Breaking News: Senate Orders Police To Vacate Akwa Ibom Assembly Immediately.....
As indicated by a Punch Metro report, the Senate on Thursday guided the police to abandon the premises of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and also stop denying lawmakers access to their chambers.
The issue of conclusion of the State House of Assembly came up for exchange on the floor of the Senate once more, when Senator Bassey Akpan uncovered that state legislators were as yet unfit to get to their chambers.
He stated, "Security operators are still there. No official has been permitted in or out. We owe the general population of Akwa Ibom this duty. It isn't right. Damage to Akwa Ibom State is damage to Nigeria."
Adding to the issue, Senator Ahmad Kaita stated, "If the police abandon the premises, the officials will run in there with their supporters and make fracas. The police are just there to advance harmony. Let us, as a Senate, check the certainties of this issue before making any move."
Toward the finish of the discussion, which saw Senators Bukola Saraki, Ike Ekweremadu, Bala Na'allah, Sam Anyanwu and others contributing, the Senate set out to "ask that the police abandon the premises and not keep the officials to approach the chambers."
